Ms. Desiree Collins is President and CEO of Feeding A Community (FAC), a not-for-profit organization that feeds the hungry and homeless in Houston, Texas. Feeding A Community feeds the hungry in low income apartment communities through community feedings and food distributions to needy households. Feeding A Community also provide community feedings in local city parks to provide comfort from hunger to Houston’s homeless population. FAC has partnered with several local homeless feeding agencies and church organizations in helping to alleviate hunger to Houston’s hungry. Feeding A Community has fed over 7000 people since 2012 and filed to become a separate entity in 2015.
Ms. Collins looks to lead the organization into unprecedented growth. FAC is currently awaiting 501(c)3 IRS Determination while working under the fiscal sponsorship of The Church of The Lord Jesus Christ of God. Future plans include a warehouse and administrative facility, and a shower and feed soup kitchen. Other long-term expansion plans are to provide food nutrition education, budgeting and planning, and health and wellness information to residents who reside in low-income communities.
Ms. Collins is a native Houstonian, and previously worked as an Accountant and Project Specialist for Baker Hughes, Inc. She also regularly volunteers her executive administrative services to helping startup nonprofit organizations.
Dr. Rodney V. Anderson Ph.D is Vice President of the FAC operation. Dr. Anderson holds credentials in Behavioral Sciences, Clergy, and Education. He is a Principal at Anderson, Barajas and Associates, Inc. He occupies the senior vice president position at Christian Alliance for Disaster Relief and Humanitarian Aid, Inc., and vice president of The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Garden Ministries, Inc. Dr. Anderson holds extensive experience in feeding communities and working with disasters on a global scale.
Mrs. Paula Collins-Yates is Secretary of the organization. and also the Founder and CEO of OJTB – Only Just The Beginning, a Louisiana non-profit organization that provides education services that lead to on-the-job-training. The organization works with employers to hire trained clients for six months or more, that they may gain valuable work experience.
Ms. Bre’anna Collins is Treasurer at Feeding A Community, and works as an Assistant Branch Manager for First Convenience Bank. Ms. Collins is currently continuing her education in Finance, and is a local soloist that performs in Houston and surrounding areas.
